LOEWE + Tyler Mitchell in a Toledo inspired editorial.
We all know fashion tells stories thought pieces, collections, and editorials. LOEWE took it very seriously (and literally) in its new lookbook, sharing a powerful and complex narrative captured by Tyler Mitchell.
The work channels the history of Toledo, a city in Spain that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 for its unique cultural identity, as a result of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish influences. The chosen location for the editorial was amidst the dusty, stone-lined pathways and historic façades of Piedra del Rey Moro and Museo de Santa Cruz in Toledo.
Tyler is best known for being the youngest and the first African-American artist to shoot the cover of US Vogue — the one featuring Beyoncé for the September 2018 edition 👈, remember?
The editorial presents items like headbands, oversized suits, and striped long-sleeves and pants. Once again, the label works magically transforming leather into some masterfully-tailored pieces.
From where we're standing, LOEWE + Tyler Mitchell got an A+.
